Anum Tahir

Graduate Student

I am a versatile researcher with extensive experience spanning diverse scientific domains. My roles have included being a Research Assistant and Lab In-charge at IRCBM Sensor & Biosensor Group, COMSATS University Islamabad, Lahore Campus (2019-2021), a Visiting Lecturer at two universities in 2021, a Teaching Assistant at Brigham Young University in 2022, and currently a Graduate Student there. My academic background encompasses an MS in Chemistry from COMSATS University (2020) and a BS in Chemistry (2018).

As a current Graduate student at BYU, my ongoing projects involve integrating immunoaffinity extraction and microchip electrophoretic separation for preterm birth biomarkers. Proficient in software tools like ChemDraw, Microsoft Office, Origin, and more, I have also held leadership roles such as Girls Representative during my high school and undergraduate years. I served as the Career Chair for the Chemistry Graduate Student Association (CGSA) from 2021-2022 and currently hold the position of CGSA President. I am proficient in techniques like FTIR, SEM, and HPLC, I also secured the second-place position at the Student Research Conference at BYU (SRC-2023).

In my free time, I simply love heading out for hikes and camping adventures, diving into outdoor sports for some fun. And you know what? My absolute go-to place to unwind is hitting the gym!
