Ariel Denos

Ariel is a graduate student from Utah and received her Bachelors in Chemistry, Emphasis in Biochemistry from Utah Valley University. She has many hobbies including hiking, dancing, service, camping, embroidery, and trying new things. Above all, she enjoys spending time with her family and being outside.

Ariel is researching the cellular effects of dynamic sphingosine kinase (SPHK1) expression in pancreatic cancer. This research uses a type of drug called 'proteolytic targeting chimera' (PROTAC) in an effort to specifically target tissue and decrease off-target effects for cancer treatment. Throughout the graduate program, Ariel is excited to learn new techniques, attend lectures, present findings, and gain a greater understanding of biochemistry.
