Chad Hyer is from Georgia and is a Junior studying Molecular Biology with minors in Mathematics and Chemistry. He enjoys hiking, playing volleyball, and making or listening to music in his free time. In his free time, he is also very active in the sustainability community and runs his own glass recycling business.
Chad is currently researching the role of protein folding stability in amyloidosis and other misfolding diseases and in the regulation of proteostasis. He aims to pursue a PhD in Bioengineering with an emphasis in protein engineering and synthetic biology. After completing his education, he aims to enter the biotechnology sector and utilize protein engineering and enzyme design to sustainably produce energy and materials.
