Dr. Leena Milind Patil
I have completed my Masters at the University of Mumbai and Ph.D. in Chemistry at the Institute of Chemical Technology in India. Then I moved to Brigham Young University, Utah as a Postdoctoral Fellow in 2017. My Ph.D. work was focused on the synthesis and characterization of carbohydrates and fluoro-nucleosides having medicinal properties. As a postdoctoral fellow at Brigham Young University, I worked on the development of column technology and separation methods in advance liquid chromatography (HPLC).
In the Price lab I am involved in the separation and identification of proteins using various mice models, including aging and Alzimer’s disease. For the efficient separation of proteins, I am using offline HPLC as a precursor to the LC-MS technique. I am also working with several collaborators across the campus and involved in a laser assisted micro sampling project for targeted proteome analysis.
