Dr. Hansen gained his expertise in neurodegenerative diseases, neuroimmunology, glial cell biology, and drug discovery while working as a Scientist/Senior Scientist and Project Team Leader in early stage research at Genentech, Inc. Prior to his work in industry, Dr. Hansen trained post-doctorally at UC San Francisco where he studied the biology of neural stem cells in the developing human brain. Dr. Hansen earned his bachelor’s degree in Molecular Biology from BYU and his doctoral degree in Cancer Biology from Stanford University Medical School.
