Before receiving his doctorate in Analytical Chemistry in 2015 from Brigham Young University, Dr. Xiaofeng Xie received his master’s degree in Materials Science and his bachelor’s degree in Chemistry from Northwest University of Xi’an in China. Dr. Xie has served as a graduate research assistant in BYU’s Chemistry Department, senior research scientist at Axcend LLC and various other roles. During his time at Axcend, Dr. Xie took a lead role in the efforts to develop its first next generation portable capillary high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) system with multiple core IP/patents. Dr. Xie joined Kelly’s group in 2021 with a goal of developing an automated and smart single-cell proteomics platform.
Dr. Xie’s research focuses on design and engineering solution for complicated analytical problems, with major emphasis on capillary gas chromatography, liquid chromatography, mass spectrometry and system automation. Dr. Xie enjoy hiking, fishing and coding in his own time.
