Lab Personnel

Dr. Jaron C. Hansen is a professor and chair of the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry at Brigham Young University. His research combines laboratory, field, and computational approaches to study atmospheric and environmental chemical processes, including air quality, atmospheric reaction kinetics, and renewable energy applications. He earned his bachelor’s degree in chemistry from Utah State University, his Ph.D. in chemistry from Purdue University, and completed postdoctoral work at the California Institute of Technology’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory. Since joining BYU in 2005, Dr. Hansen has been recognized for excellence in teaching, research, mentoring, innovation, and technology transfer.
