Lab Personnel
Colin Smith
Colin Smith first entered the lab in August 2020 and graduated with a Chemical Engineering degree in April of 2023. He aims for medical school post-graduation and currently investigates the performance of catalysts in oxidative dehydrogenation projects. When not in the lab, he enjoys skiing (water and snow), hiking, singing, and reading fantasy.
Robert Ellis
Robert Ellis worked in the Stower's lab beginning December 2019. He is currently researching catalysts for AB hydrolysis and is also interested in physical chemistry and spectroscopy. He graduated in April 2021 with a BS in Chemistry, and is planning on graduate school next fall. He is originally from Portland, OR, and enjoys reading, baking and swimming.
Benjamin Chipman
Ben Chipman is a chemistry major from Eagan Minnesota. His research has been on the Catalytic Dehydrogenation of Ammonia Borane. He is interested in this research as it pertains to clean energy in the use of hydrogen fuel cells. Most of his in the Stowers lab has been spent building and testing Metal Organic Framework catalysts for this reaction. In his spare time he enjoys skiing, climbing and reading. He is currently working towards a career in data analytics after graduation, and possibly an MBA.
